How They Dazzle Us

&Beyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge has exclusive traversing rights with Moremi Game Reserve giving access to vast expanses of sprawling lush wildlands in the Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is situated in Botswana, western Zambia and bordering on Namibia. The source begins as far up as the Congo. It is one of the world’s seven natural wonders of Africa and is officially a world heritage site. The delta, with its bountiful water supply, attracts a magnificent collection of birds and animals. The vistas are breath taking and the landscape is a glorious show of dappled forests and vast grassy floodplains. Many a visitor has suggested that the delta is the closest you get to heaven, on earth.

Why We Love Them

The Lodge is situated in the wild palm and fig tree forests overlooking the delta tributaries of calm and clear waters where elephants come to play, crocodiles bask and hippos graze. The grasslands creep from behind, scattered with the pyramid like spires of the termites. Offering twice-daily land and water safaris, you can also appreciate the habitat from close-up by arranging a guided walk with experienced guides. The lodge is built on stilts to allow for seasonal rises in water levels, it merges with the environment to add to the immersed-in-nature feeling. It is built from local wood materials and the tables and other wood features are individually selected hard woods that have beauty and unique character.

Their Sustainable Superpower

Botswana is home to several isolated communities with very little access to education, hygiene and healthcare and very little knowledge about caring for the land. Their livelihoods are dependent on the produce of the land, both food and materials are essential to support their living. Providing learning opportunities to improve land use practices and understanding the need for conservation practices, ensures the longevity of the environment is kept, which is both beneficial to the habitat and to the inhabitants. &Beyond has partnered with Rhinos Without Borders and they are actively involved in combatting rhino poaching and supporting rhino protection.
