Trips To Earth has developed a sustainability questionnaire for every Landing to complete before being featured on our site. The questions are based on the SANS 1162 Responsible Tourism Standard and a number of other certification programme questionnaires, including the 4Cs - Conservation, Community, Commerce and Culture.
Factors include:
- Sustainable planning and management
- Socio-economic impacts and the benefits for local communities
- Protecting cultural heritage
- Environmental impacts including consumption of resources, reducing pollution and negative impacts to the environment, and conserving biodiversity and landscapes
We recognise that not every Landing has the capacity for certain initiatives however we acknowledge and celebrate them for what they are doing with what they have.
