How They Dazzle Us

A visit to this Landing is to plunge into the timeless tranquillity of Africa. Located within the world-famous Lewa Conservancy, home to East Africa’s healthiest black and white rhino populations, this small yet elegant property takes its name from the Swahili word for rhino. It is charming and beautifully put together and it luxuriates in total exclusivity with five charming thatched cottages tucked away in an oasis of vibrant lawns, filled with birdsong. It carries a home away from home feel with its excellent library, well stocked bar and log fires in the lounge and dining rooms. The staff are attentive and able to cater for your every need.

Why We Love Them

The diversity of what can be found and seen while staying at this Landing is what we love. From the snow-capped Mount Kenya to the arid lands of Tassia and Il Ngwesi this Landing and surrounding conservancy has habitats that range from pristine forest, fertile grasslands, extensive springs and acacia woodland which in turn translates to a huge array of different animals that are on show. While rhino might be what the Landing is famous for, there is a lot more to be seen than just these highly endangered species.

The team behind this Landing are fully committed to all that is environmental, ethical and sustainable, but it is probably fair to say that rhino conservation is the key focus of their work. Employing teams of rangers to protect the animals and to spot poachers, every day at this Landing is about the battle to keep black rhino populations, after whom they are named, growing.
