How They Dazzle Us

With its nine luxurious cottages, family cottage, and magnificent main Manor House, this is one of the first safari Landings of its kind to blend East African hospitality with old-world Afro-European architecture and decor. Its dazzling architecture and attention to detail coupled with the incredible landscape and surrounds make this an incredible place to experience. Located adjacent to the famous Ngorongoro conservation area and within a 1500-acre Arabica coffee estate, The Manor is reminiscent of an elegant up-country farm home in the Cape Dutch-style of architecture. Every detail of The Manor has been designed with its guests’ comfort in mind. Each of the cottages has been carefully positioned to maximise the views of the adjacent verdant hills but at the same time to maintain the intimacy and privacy of this old-world Manor home.

Why We Love Them

It is not without reason that the Ngorongoro Crater is famed as being the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’. It is truly magnificent. Having navigated the journey down its steep sides the visitor finds themselves on the 18-kilometre wide crater floor, a flatland that teems with all the wildlife imaginable. It is magnificent, even if it is busy. But it is a location that simply has to be visited if you are going to do Africa properly.

Their Sustainable Superpower

All the Landings run and managed by the Elewana team employ strict recycling systems, to ensure that all recyclable waste is just that- recycled! In Tanzania, this includes sending glass waste to the Shanga workshop in Arusha, where disadvantaged Tanzanians turn the glass into amazing works of art. They are switched on to doing the right thing, not the convenient thing and this consciousness is evident in so many touch points and interactions all around the Landing.
