From the moment you first lay eyes on Hangaroa Eco Village & Spa you will be in awe of its green roofs and low environmental impact design. With natural finishes, tree trunks and natural lighting this Landing is superbly integrated with the wonderful landscape and beauty in which it exists. Guests can enjoy traditional Rapa Nui culinary delicacies made with fresh produce from the local markets and scuba dive in some of the most astonishingly clear waters in the world with up to 50 metres of visibility. Topping the list should be a visit to the the ancient site of Ahu Tongariki with 15 standing moai. The image of Tongariki, together with that of the statues of the nearby Rano Raraku volcano, is the one that has most appeared in books, magazines and documentaries of Easter Island.

So much hard work and effort has gone into making this Landing a truly sustainable place. They make use of high-efficiency electrical equipment, there’s a massive implementation of solar lighting and LED technology and they have also managed to self-supply irrigation water through a purification of wastewater system. All detergents and cleaning products used at the hotel are made under environmental management systems while additionally the interior decoration of the hotel is based on the island’s geographical features, giving priority to natural lighting and simple objects of noble materials, seeking the least artificial contact with the environment of Rapa Nui.
