Beirut is famously known as the Paris of the Middle East, a moniker that it wears easily. Despite this, for many people, especially those who grew up in the 1980’s, Beirut mesmerizes images of war and unrest. 20 years later, Beirut has come a long way and is today, a stunning city filled with incredible architecture and historical Landings among which: the majestic Kempinski Summerland Hotel & Resort. In a dazzling city, this is a jewel in the crown, a perfectly designed property located on the shores of the Mediterranean.

Why We Love Them

We love the way that this Landing blends the beach with luxury suites, how it integrates seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, how it allows for genuine pampering at its Resense Spa and how you can relax in private in your own Jacuzzi room, or a little more publicly on the hotel’s private beach. It really is a great place to get away from the stress of life and retreat into a cocoon of awesomeness and privacy. The project in itself is a world of its own. Guests can enjoy luxury in all of its shapes or forms without leaving the property and enjoying ease of access to all of its facilities be it the SPA, the Marina and its watersports offering various activities like parasailing, jet ski and kayaking to name a few. Guests can enjoy a plethora of restaurants offering different cuisines such as Lebanese, Mediterranean, French or Italian. Moreover, while guests enjoy the Cascade pool or have a signature cocktail in one of the pool bars, their children can enjoy day activities offered by the amazing summer camp provider taking place in the dedicated kids area, which also hosts a kids pool equipped with a water slide. Due to the size of this project and in order to facilitate the ease of access and navigation to all of their clients, all of the outlets are equipped with golf carts ready to drop off guests at their chosen location.

Their Sustainable Superpower

The architecture here is modern and it incorporates all the best elements of modern design. It has beautiful flows from inside to out, it makes excellent use of natural light and its use of water as a theme and throughout the venue is well done – it is hard to tell where the pools end, and the sea starts, and the atmosphere created is one of relaxed informality in the confines of a luxury resort. The project was very carefully studied – endemic plans were transplanted from previous Summerland grounds to the existing one. They have kept the famous waterfall which had a sentimental value for the Lebanese community and recreated it. The creation of the marina was done in conjunction with marina biology in order to preserve and protect existing sea life habitat.
