And, in terms of attention to detail and planning for every eventuality, how is this for awesome – if you are travelling with children, they have a wonderful entertainment team and a comprehensive programme for younger guests that includes such activities as shell expeditions, an ice cream laboratory, DJ classes, coral planting, painting and palm leaf origami. There is an under the stars Cinema Paradiso that caters for kids and adults with complimentary popcorn, cookies and sweets on offer, an excellent water sports hub and bicycles with which to explore the spectacular island which is peppered with lush gardens, brimming with magnificent orchids, palm trees and a magical Tree of Wishes. The LUX* Me Spa is a sanctuary where guests can enjoy pampering and holistic treatments whilst overlooking the crystal-clear blue lagoon. Floating yoga, sunrise meditation and pilates can be incorporated into guests daily mindfulness experiences.

Their Sustainable Superpower

Luxury and sustainability don’t have to be mutually exclusive. And with the Maldives being one of the planet’s most unique ecosystems, it’s all the more important to take action and to act to responsibly. With this in mind the team at LUX* South Ari Atoll built one of the world’s largest floating solar systems at sea. Their island cruiser bikes are powered by the strong Maldivian sun. Single-use plastic is a no-go and their water plant has saved nearly a million plastic bottles. Guests are encouraged to adopt a coral and to help restore the reefs. And perhaps this is the coup de grace, because they care about creating awareness in the next generation, they have made environmental awareness and mindfulness a pillar of the PLAY kids club. The only thing you will be wishing for when you hang your hand-written ribbon in the Wishing Tree is to return to this magical resort.
