How They Dazzle Us

There is something quite unique about being able to get up close and personal with wild animals. As a result of the work done at the Ol pejeta conservancy where this camp is situated, there is not only the opportunity to see wild animals in their natural environment, but also the chance to interact with some rescued animals, including some that are not indigenous to Kenya. This includes the chance to ‘meet’ Baraka the black rhino or to get a behind the scenes visit with the Chimps at the sanctuary. There is also the sobering but special experience of a visit to the Endangered Species Boma to see World’s last two northern white rhinos.

Why We Love Them

This is a camp that lives up to its principles to the fullest. Income from the camp is important in helping the highly endangered Black Rhino to avoid extinction, and assisting in the work to assist chimpanzee populations, running a full rehabilitation centre for these wonderful animals that can only be found here when in Kenya The camp is gold rated by eco-tourism Kenya and has a photographic hide overlooking a watering hole that is located at the front of the main areas. The Camp also has a two roomed family units. Walks with masai warriors are included and no extra cost.

Their Sustainable Superpower

The camp staff is drawn from different Kenyan communities including members of the Maasai community from Porini conservancy projects at Selenkay in Amboseli and Olkinyei and Olare Motorogi in the Mara. The camp adheres to strict eco-friendly and responsible eco-tourism principles and income generated from the guests and their activities is ploughed back into conservation
