How They Dazzle Us

The geology in this remote south eastern corner of Zimbabwe is spectacular. Giant sandstone boulders make up the ridge, atop of which is perched this stunning Landing, a Landing made all the more dazzling through its incredible architecture. In short, the design has rendered Singita Pamushana one with its surrounds. With bold geometric patterns, tile inlays and carved furniture, as well as comforting natural fabrics, raw silks and woven leather elements the organic-shaped buildings feature detailed thatch and stonework and carefully curated interiors. As much as you are living in luxury, you can’t help but feeling a part of the surrounds. Indeed this forest-like lodge is inspired by the culture of the Shangaan people who have lived in the region for thousands of years.

Conservation is high on the agenda at Singita Pamushana Lodge and it is no surprise that the Malilangwe Reserve on which they are situated boasts one of the highest concentrations of the endangered black rhino in the world. And it is not just lip-service that is paid, the team at Singita Pamushana have adopted a scientific approach to conservation, their management practice underpinned by rigorous scientific research conducted by an on-site research department. Add to this that the Landing is not just conserving nature, but preserving ancient rock art as well and they are doing a great job to ensure that future generations will be able to experience the true wonder of the Zimbabwe wild.
