How They Dazzle Us

The views at this Landing are outstanding. But it not just the views that are dazzling – anyone can look out a window and appreciate a view. Sitting in a rim-flow pool on the edge of a cliff looking out over vast expanses of African bushveld is quite another experience. Or there is the view from the waterhole bunkers which almost put you face-to-face with drinking elephant, rhino or giraffe. If you have ever wanted to know what it feels like to venture down to a waterhole surrounded by all the beasts of the wild, this is your chance to do so.

Why We Love Them

There is so much on offer at this incredible Landing, but the thing that stood out more than anything else was the game fishing. Experts will tell you that pound-for-pound the tiger fish is the best fighter and the most thrilling to catch – especially if you look to land it on a fly rod. And Singita Malilangwe House, situated as it is adjacent to the ridge above the Malilangwe Dam, offers those with a bent for fishing the perfect opportunity to try their hand at landing a tiger. There are plenty of other fish available to catch as well, bream, barbell and bass amongst them. But the prize is the aggressive tiger fish. And if you really want to act like a local the guides will show you how they use local plants to catch fish – it’s an awesome experience.

The goal of the Singita team is to preserve and protect large areas of African wilderness for future generations. They are not just about incredibly built and designed lodges or about the best sustainable living practices, they are also very well versed in the art of conservation. This fantastic Landing in the remote south east of Zimbabwe have done their bit, in tandem with local communities and authorities, to ensure that the highly endangered black rhino has been able to thrive in the area.
