A haven for bird watchers, Chobe is home to more than 450 different species of bird. From large predators to smaller LBJ's Savute is a birders paradise.

The seasons and lush marshes ensure a colourful mix of land birds and aquatic dwellers. The changing seasons and migration patterns of certain visitors also make for wide variations of what can be seen.

Savute is home to some of the world’s largest flying birds, including the kori bustard and the secretary bird. Other attractions include the endangered ground hornbill, which meanders through the tall grass sporting tangerine eye shadow and a bulging throat. Raptors dominate the sky and the tree tops with their razor-sharp talons.
