The marine life off the coast of Mozambique is incredible, particularly when it comes to the larger species - whale shark, humpback whales and dolphin are all frequent visitors to the area and the chance to swim with them is very real. Being in the water surrounded by these wonderful creatures is both humbling and inspiring. For most people it is a once in a life time experience.

But those aren't the only incredible animals to be found in the area - turtles swim in the waters and lay their eggs on the beaches. If you time your visit right you may well see the freshly hatched babies making their way to the ocean for the first time. Even more exciting and rare is the dugong, a rare and fascinating creature that is also called a sea cow. Part of the manatee family they are quite elusive and shy but they live in the area and lucky divers and swimmers may well spot one.
