Regarded by those in the know as the most spectacular and mesmerizing wildlife spectacle anywhere in the world, the annual wildebeest migration takes place annually between July and October.  It is truly a site to behold as close to one and a half million wildebeest, accompanied by vast numbers of zebra and gazelles make the long and dangerous trek from the drier lands of Tanzania, northwards to the Masai Mara. Hunted on every side this conveyor belt of animals draws birds of prey, lion, leopard, and of course crocodile. It is a time of plenty and of abundance and change as young are born and the frail and elderly are picked off by the patient predators. And it all unfolds in front of you at the Governor’s Landings which are perfectly situated to showcase the final moments of the annual journey.
