A special place for book lovers. This is a wonderful space that is a mixture between a library, a dining room or even a formal board room. This special space is named after the Nobel Prize-winning Irish poet, playwright and translator, who was a regular guest at the hotel. Heaney personally opened the refurbished room in July 2011. It is a unique and atmospheric space and it plays home to hundreds of first editions that date back to the 1930s. There are plenty of 20th century classics as well. Air-conditioned and wood-panelled this is a room with gravitas. Plenty of natural daylight creates a light feel that does well to offset the wood panel and parquet floors. The room is furnished with Lutyens-designed 'spiderback' chairs, and a long oak table.
