It doesn't matter where you are within the reserve, it could be chilling in your room, while out game driving or from the gunnels of a boat, the bird life is abundant and there is plenty to be seeen. If birding if your thing, expect to spot some lifers here - the reserve is habitat to more than 200 species of birds

Twitchers will know what to bring but for those less experienced make sure you have packed your binoculars, notepads, and field guides. Some of the birds that you are likely to ee include: Cinnamon-breasted Warblers, Booted Eagles, Southern Grey Tit, Namaqua Sandgrouse and Black-winged Stilts.

The Little Karoo is a well-known birding destination. With the contrast of vast plains, mountains, water-courses, and drainage lines throughout the area, it makes nesting for a variety of species easy.

You can expect to catch a glimpse of birds of prey, such as the Jackal Buzzard or Little Brown Jobs like the Chat Flycatcher. You might even find Chestnut-vented Tit Babblers, mingling with doves, mousebirds, and sparrows.
