Shimba Hills is about an hour away from Elewana Afrochic Diani Beach and it is well worth a visit. It is significantly cooler than the surrounding areas which can make for a nice break, but it is also home to an abundance of wildlife. Of particular interest is the population of the rare and endangered Sable Antelope. Unspoiled and regarded as one of the least exploited of all Kenya's game reserves, the combination of rolling grasslands and forest, hill and valley and the variety of animals, birds and insects ensure that Shimba Hills is a delight for all nature lovers.
