How They Dazzle Us
This Landing is built on the shores of the mercurial Lake Naivasha, at a palce regarded as the highest point in the Rift Valley. Naivasha comes from the Maasai word Nai’posha, which means rough water. This is due to the frequent moody storms that occur in the area. Surrounded by a swamp and adjacent to a volcano this is a geographically stunning area and one full of mystery and intrigue. As a frequent stopping point for flying boats from Imperial Airways and a summer holiday spot for renowned conservationist Joy Adamson, this is also an area that is steeped in history.

Their Sustainable Superpower
Located in an ecologically sensitive area, the Governors’ team who manage this incredible landing have gone all out to ensure that their sustainable tourism philosophy is applied here for the benefit of the local people, the land, the wildlife and the guests. The biggest initiative at Loldia House is their school project. When the landing was first opened on the old farmstead there was a small school made of mud buildings that served the children. The Governors’ team asked to improve the school and they started to introduce guests to the project and get them involved. The school has now been rebuilt, making it one of the best schools in the region. Scholarships are offered and many students have gone on to university.
