A great example of how tourism can be harnessed for good. The story behind Iby’iwacu cultural village is, in a sense one of poachers turned game keepers. In short the village convinced poachers to turn their back on poaching and instead perform for visitors. Once at the village, which is a 15 minute drive or hour's walk from the Landing, visitors will discover the traditional house of a local king, can watch an authentic medicine man prepare herbal mixtures or try their hand at bow and arrow shooting. There is also the opportunity to take in some cultural dances and drumming performed by people from the area.
A visit to the village is a great way to learn more about the local inhabitants and to support them in making an honest and environmentally friendly living.
