Situated at a substantial altitude Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is the perfect place to spot species that thrive at higher altitudes. Expect to see a wide range of birds that include iridescent sunbirds, shy white-starred robins, brightly coloured buntings and inquisitive ravens. The landing is surrounded by plush indigenous forests above and farmland below, which means that it is the ideal place to sit back and view a real mix of species passing through from various seed-eaters to the occasional raptor. A short trip away to one of the area many lakes also provides the opportunity to spot water birds - white-tailed blue flycatchers and black-headed gonoleks are a couple of the rarer birds to have been spotted in these locations, while herons, egrets and hammerkops always abound.
