This half-day excursion takes you into the UNESCO World Heritage site that is the Namib Sand Sea. The photographic opportunities are many but perhaps they are best at Deadvlei, where some 70 camel thorn tree trunks, more than 900 years dead, remain standing on a bleached clay pan.

Finally, if you are up for a challenge you might want to
climb a sand dune - for the fit and adventurous there is only one option, you will have to conquer the towering ‘Big Daddy’ - by the time you get to the top it will feel like you have conquered your own personal Everest.
