How They Dazzle Us
Jordan is a great place to visit, but without a doubt the most dazzling place in this ancient country is Petra. Reportedly inhabited as long ago as 9000BC, Petra is found deep inside a narrow gorge in the desert. It is accessed by walking through a long chasm that is almost a kilometre in length with steeps walls of almost 200m on either side. The ancient architecture is incredible with building carved into the rock – the most famous of these is known as The Treasury and it is used in the final sequence of the film ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’.

Jordan is like a buffet of incredible food that you have never tasted before. So many unique and unusual experiences to be sampled here that it is hard not to love it. From floating in the Dead Sea to visiting Petra, exploring the moonscape of Wadi Rum Desert and the simple yet incredible middle-eastern food. Jordan can be very hot in summer so the best time to visit is generally when it is a little cooler. March to May tend to be nice and cool with temperatures in the low twenties. But in many ways, it depends on why you are visiting the country. If you are there for the beaches then warmer weather might be welcome, in which case The Dead Sea and Aqaba can see temperatures reaching the low forties in July.
