Mauritiushas a lot to offer from a culinary perspective as it draws on a very wide range of influences – English, French and Indian all included. One of the most interesting local items to try is dholl pori – it’s a fried, flat bread made from ground split-peas, which is served with bean curry, atchar and chutney. Seafood naturally features prominently and can be found in one form or another almost anywhere on the island.
