Their Sustainable Superpower
Poverty is a big problem in Uganda and a drive from Entebbe to Kampala can be quite an eye-opening experience, but the government is aware that tourism can play a major role in lifting the people out of poverty. As such they have passed policies which have helped in promoting sustainable tourism in Uganda. These policies include; the millennium development goals (MDGs), promoting good environmental practices, engaging the communities in sustainable tourism development and limiting damage by the tourists.

Best Time to Visit
Most people visiting Uganda go there for the gorilla and rain forest experiences. And, by definition, rain forests are wet. Despite that the best time to visit is during the drier months which are from June to August and again from December to February.

Unique Foods
Like many African countries maize meal porridges are the traditional starches that meals are built around - in Uganda it is known as Ugali. Alternatively, there is Matooke, which is steamed and mashed green bananas. Other local stables include stew like dishes made with a combination of groundnuts, beans and meat.
