Why We Love Them
The mountains are amazing, we may have mentioned that already, but so are the cities – and while they might not be as fashionable as some other European cities like Paris, Amsterdam or London, the Swiss cities of Zurich and Geneva are great places and very much deserving of a visit. Yes, everything runs on time and true, the public toilets at the local station are so clean you would be comfortable preparing meal in them; but that doesn’t mean that Swiss cities are sterile or boring. They are creative, liberal minded places with plenty to do – enjoy them.

The Swiss are very aware of their environment and they are very focussed on working hard to look after their mountains – to the extent that volunteer mountain cleaners are actually a thing in many Alpine villages. Switzerland is also home to the oldest national park of Europe, while many newly opened regional nature parks are being set aside for future generations.

Best Time to Visit
There are no right answers to this question really, because the best time to visit Switzerland depends entirely on what you want to do there. Skiing is an obvious reason for many people to travel to Switzerland and that is best experienced in eth winter months between December and March. But for hiking or mountain-biking the summer months are best – in short there is plenty to do in Switzerland at any time of year.

Unique Foods
It doesn’t require a culinary genius or Google to remind you of the traditional foods of Switzerland. Aside from their Army Knives and mountains the Swiss are world famous for chocolate, cheese and fondues. Slightly less well known, but still a treat is Älplermagronen - a kind of gratin with potatoes, macaroni, cheese, cream and onions.
